Happy New Year with New Resources from SJK & the CDC
Monthly roundup from Science Journal for Kids and Teens
Welcome to 2025 with SJK’s January Newsletter.
We are opening the New Year with a new SJK Academy video produced in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The scientists researched wildfire smoke’s impact on public health in a paper originally published in the CDC’s own journal MMWR.
This video is part of the CDC’s Science Ambassador Program for STEM Teachers - a year-long fellowship including a 5-day summer course at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Applications are accepted until 15 January.
Here at SJK, we finished our year with a cosmic perspective - a scientific article about planet Earth’s cosmological history:
What if Earth had a ring like Saturn’s?
Speaking of perspective, at the end of each year, we also publish our Annual Impact Report.
Read on here to learn more about our work and the people behind it.
That’s all for now. If you ever want to reach out or give us feedback, respond to this email and I will receive it personally. On behalf of everyone on our team, I wish you a healthy and sustainable new year!
